What most excited you about an opportunity to join Flawn Seed Kits?
I was most excited to join Flawn Seed Kits because of the immense opportunity that this brand has. Anthony and the team have themselves positioned perfectly to scale in the future in a category that is trending and righteous. Quality, packaging and their mission create the perfect storm to support pollinators and making this planet a better place.
Where do you see the lawn and garden industry going?
I have spent my career in the lawn and garden industry and I can say that every company out there, big or small, is trying, or being told to do better for the environment. The Green movement is real and it is crucial to the long-term sustainability of everything we know. Lawns and landscapes do so much to improve the environment and I just see this trend continuing in the quest to urge every individual to do their part. Flawn has something special here in that they have made it easy for consumers to make a big impact in a very simple way and I believe companies like this will continue to fuel the L&G category for decades to come.
What have you learned so far in your career that will help you be successful in your new position?
One of my greatest learnings in my previous career was that there are many things that go into scaling a product or a business. You cannot just flip a switch and it happens. It takes work ethic, resilience, perseverance, patience, partnerships and a good product of course.
What is your proudest achievement?
I am most proud of the family and life that my wife and I have built together. From a business standpoint my greatest achievements all stem from taking a product from its infant stage and growing it into something bigger and better. Gaining momentum and stacking wins gives me a tremendous feeling of accomplishment and it is something that I am very eager to start doing with Anthony at Flawn.
What do you do for fun?
I enjoy being outside and enjoying the different seasons that the New England area provides. We ski as a family and enjoy getting out to the beach as often as we can when time allows. Like many parents out there I would be remiss if I did not say that I love driving my kids around to multiple practices and games on what seems like a daily basis😁
Who is your hero and why?
My daughter is my hero. Without getting too far into it she was born with multiple disabilities and hardships that she has dealt with since her first day. No matter how large the obstacle is in front of her or how hard of an experience it is to get past it, she won't let anything get the best of her. She sets an example and a pace that we can all benefit from. She has been inspiring me for 9 years now and each year seems more impressive than the last.
